Global Market Leader in Consumer & Trade Distribution Commercial finance role focused on sales performance, analysis and business partnering Ideal opportunity for a Big 4 or Mid-tier first mover looking to step into industry The Opportunity A large, global consumer and trade distribution business is seeking a Commercial Analyst to join its high-performing finance team. Operating across an extensive store and customer network in Australia and New Zealand, the business is a recognised market leader. Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, this role will play a key part in supporting commercial performance across a national network. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across sales, operations and finance to deliver insight-led analysis, support promotional initiatives and drive improved financial outcomes. The Challenge As Commercial Analyst, your responsibilities will include: Delivering detailed analysis across sales, margins and operating costs, providing clear insights and recommendations to support performance improvement Supporting commercial finance activities including P&L analysis, variance commentary and identifying key trends across the business Managing customer rebate programs, including calculations, reporting, reconciliations and close engagement with sales teams Preparing and enhancing commercial reporting packs, including KPI reporting, sales performance and capex tracking Partnering with stakeholders across sales and operations to support promotional activity and growth initiatives Supporting the preparation of business cases and providing financial input into key commercial decisions Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and planning processes, contributing to improved forward-looking visibility Supporting month-end processes including management reporting and financial analysis The Expertise To be successful in this role, you will bring the following: 2–5 years’ experience within FP&A, commercial finance or accounting Big 4 or Mid-tier chartered accounting experience is highly desirable, particularly for candidates looking to make their first move into industry that have exposure to large and complex clients Advanced Excel skills, with exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools advantageous Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across finance, sales and operations Strong analytical capability with ability to interpret data, identify trends and provide meaningful recommendations beyond the numbers High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or Commerce, with CA or CPA qualification (or working towards) The Next Step If this position will enhance your career and you would like further details on the client, the role, remuneration or a copy of the position description, please call Matt Hodgson for a confidential discussion on Or alternatively please apply per the link below.
